Welcome

Hello, what do you want!  I am the grumpy systems administrator – This is going to be the home of my blog. Read it if you want, don’t not bothered!!!!

Who am I, well this is something we can discover together as I blog and post about my adventures as an IT Systems Administrator.  We can explore this wonderful world of IT together. Curse at software bugs, and cry a few days together every month with the Microsoft Computer PMT aka Patch Tuesdays.

Who am I?

I have been in the IT industry for over 12 years now, working at various levels, First, Second and Third line support. Currently I am a Senior Systems Support Analyst.  The role is a cross between System Architect and third/fourth line support. I don’t care about users, I care about the system. I have no real interaction with end users. Thank GOD!

I like to think that I have a large experience base, a jack of all trades, master of none.  I am just your typical IT Systems Administrator.

I CAN USE GOOGLE AND TECHNET!!!!

Most of my career, I didn’t need any qualification, be promoted and progressed based on performance and aptitude. However, after be with a single employer for 12 years (had moved departments 6/7 times) I moved on but in order to facilitate that move I decided that I need qualifications to validate my experience.

The qualifications that I currently hold are :-

CCNA
CCNA Voice
MCSA: Server 2012
CEH V8
VMWare associate DCV

These are NOT the flagship qualifications, they are only starting point, that helped me get my current job role. I will when I can be bothered upgrade them and study for more… but at least you know there is some qualifications behind my experience. I don’t know everything and don’t pretend to be the expert at everything.

What I intend to use this blog for is to rant, rave and share tips, pointers, and stuff I find interesting and cool.  This could range from a powershell scripts. A new neat bit of hardware or a nice admin hint and trick.

I seriously doubt people will actually read this blog, but if you do follow etc I really hope that you find it useful.

All The Best,

Hazzy – The Grump Systems Administrator
